About KOSHUYUMEKOUJI

It was born as a new landmark of Yamanashi.

Reproduction of castletown of Kofu during the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa era.

It is told that Koshu was the peaceful Tokugawa demesne during Edo era. Government officers and direct retainers of the shogun lived in Koshu and there was a smart Ko-edo culture in Kofu. In the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa era, the jewellery and silk textile industry became active. Osamu Dazai and Masuji Ibuse lived in Kofu at the time and many young people were smarten up and called Haikara-san.

Renovation of old houses

The building of Tamaya is the moved old folk house constructed with Kabuto-dukuri which has Kabuto shaped roof. It is a massive architecture with an old beam inside.
Koshu Yumekouji shows historical townscape. You can enjoy retro atmosphere and your walk among traditional buildings as the old folk house, storehouse and stone path.

KOFU Tokino Kane

Reproducted tower of Tokino kane which told people time for more than 200years till the early Meiji era.
The tower told people time for more than 200 years but took down in the early Meiji era.

KOSHUYUMEKOUJI is the center of Yamanashi

Yamanashi was surrounded by Famous mountains.

Kofu is placed about the center of Yamanashi. It is conveniently located around many tourist site as Shosenkyo, Yamanashi prefectural museum of art, historic places of Shingenko, fruits picking and winery.
